I just returned from the first day of the Aviodrome show.

A big thank you to the organisation who put together another perfect show again !

A big thank you also to all our visitors and customers who came to pay us a visit from all over the world. We had customers coming over from India, Russia, Turkey, Scandinavia, Spain, Germany, the UK and many other countries. Many thanks for dropping by and saying hi. I am amazed every time when i see how close the FS community is. Great to be part of it.

FlyEngravity joined up with CPflight and Xesa Motion Systems to offer complete turn key solutions: Motion platforms, plug and play hardware and highly detailed panels.

Now on to the first picture. I will give you all a sneak preview of new products to be released on short term.

Engravity is proud to announce a new co-production with CPflight. We teamed up to develop some new items together.

First a new full scale MCP. We developed a full scale new style mcp with some features not seen before.
First take a look at the pictures below (you can click on the pictures to enlarge them:

Some of the key features:
* solenoid autothrottle disconnect switch. Yes you read it right. The switch flips back when the autothrottle disconnects !
You can see it in action here: YouTube - Solenoid Autothrottle disconnect switch
* New style MCP, full scale
* Molded push buttons with highly detailed legends.
* Backlit legends with illuminated flags.
* Aluminium powder coated custom made knobs.
* Functional Dual concentric rotary for the bank angle/heading
* Black window inserts around all display windows.
* white digits like the newer models.

Another Co-development we made with our friends from CPflight is not a Boeing item: we expanded our range to the airbus:
We are proud to announce our joint effort with CPflight to develop a A320 FCU/EFIS.
Pictures below:

Hi all,

saw the airbus FCU in real life yesterday. Wow...its amazing in its detail.
If you can afford it... it for sure worth every penny..
the lcd is great. the buttons are of very high quality with nice backlight and
the green indicator is not lighted by the backlight. The dual rotarys (like the 100/1000
selection and on the pressure) are there. The only thing I did not like that much was the
feeling on the push/pull, very little travel (dont know either how this is in the real cockpit)
Overall... WOW

Thank you for the compliments

For now it works with Project Magenta, But the AST guys were at the Aviodrome show too, and it looks like that will work too.

Since the unit is fully configurable it can work with desktop software too through direct access, but no plans have been made yet in that direction, but never know what the future will bring. Basically anything is possible.

Price for FCU and Both EFIS will be € 1549

Guys, I dont really care too much for Airbus aircraft (but we all know that in reality, even though we have preferences, we love almost ANY thing that flies!) but this Airbus gear looks incredible. I am happy to see it coming out, and the great looking NG stuff too.

Congrats to the two companies making a great team effort.

Just one thing I notice on the Pics Is not that important and probably is a software Issue... But on the EFIS panel you can only Select one option either Ariport or VOR or NDB or waypoint but not 2 at a same time!

When i took the picture the unit was in testmode and only connected to power and not to PM.
In test mode you can press every key to light the annunciations. We just pressed some keys to show the annunciation and show there is no light bleeding.
In fact in this mode i could have lit up all the pushbuttons, but just pressed some random keys.

A pro like you sees that immedeately :-) Anyway....its not a bug, but just me having lit up some keys randomly :-)

I have to admit that both the Airbus and the Boeing parts look better actually in the flesh , those photos dont do them justice, I only wish that you do a 747MCP aswell, i think i would of taken 1 home with me if you did.

The quality and the feel of them had me convinced that they were actually the real life counterparts,

Just one question I forgot to ask, on the Airbus FCU was that the real LCD as used on the real thing?

Top Job, Well done guys!!

Thank you for the compliments

The LCD display is a custom made LCD, replicating all text and annunciating modes. Even the large dots are displayed.

Not the real display from the real aircraft. That would have made the unit unaffordable ;-)
But i will take it as a very big compliment :-)

Too bad we didnt get to talk to eachother. (at least i think we didnt talk to eachother)

Not to worry we will meet again, I was there very early and when i walked past it looked like you where experiencing a few "technical" problems so I thought that i would not disturb you.

I have to say fair play with the LCD, i know about having custom made LCD (other non FS stuff) and the cost, that truly is "as real as it gets" however you know im still gonna have a go at an LED equivelant;)

Simply perfect, Bring out a 747MCP Please!!

Hey Robert.

Great to see you here.

Yeah, there has been some new stuff over the last while (during your stint away)

For those of you that don't know Robert Prather is one of the pioneers of this wonderful hobby of ours. Without people like him, we wouldn't be doing this sort of thing today :)

Best regards,

Robert

Glad to see you have been able to take a few minutes out of your busy schedule and check on the updates.

We still need help in the 777 market. Would like to see you guys get Project Blue Sky back up. The overheads and CCU's are much needed.

Those great quality pictures just make you want to reach out an press a button or turn the heading selector - but then your finger hits the screen and you realise the dream isn't so sweet;)

In a couple of weeks you can actually press the buttons if you want instead of putting finger prints on your screen :-)

The only thing missing in FCU are those Backlighted knobs as the real one...

dnoize
12-11-2007, 04:29 PM
The lightplate does have the light ring to provide the light for translucent knobs.....

so it can easily be fixed...but not by us :-)

You probably mean the ones in the efis ?
