Okay, From the best I can tell, bottom of the lower panels on the Learjet 45 is right at 19.8" H, and I just plotted it out 1:1 since Im starting on the MIP Stand tonight.

However, when sitting in an office chair that is close to the height of the LJ seats, it seems as if the height from the floor to the lower panels of only 19.85" is a bit short (and actually thats a slightly increased height from what I can tell from the TQ pedestal plans).

PaulEMB, what's the height from the floor to the lower panels of your MIP?
Other's (Trevor, Bob, Nic, anyone!)

What's the height of the floor to the lowest part of your MIP also please?

Just trying to get an idea of how close this may be.

Hey Eric, mine is 18" from the floor to the bottom of the MIP.. Just mesured it. Is this right? no idea but it is what mine is!

Bob, that is excellent- then maybe it's just a wierd perspective that I have right now. I know that if the much bigger 737 flight deck's lower panels are only 18" high from the floor, then that's probably right for the little LJ45.

Much appreciated.

If others have another measurement, Im all ears still.

Your going to have to wait til I get home to measure, but I am guessing mine is either 16 to the top of the pedistal, and 19 to the bottom in the foot well.

Thanks Trevor,

After going back to my stash at Airliners.net, I feel that my height of 19.85 is right there where it needs to be, if not just a tiny tad high.

Thanks to all of you.

Eric,

Mine is 19" to the bottom edge of the MIP from the surface that is under the pedals.

John B,

I noticed you posted over in the Avsim forum about the AES from aerosoft.

Would it do any good for a corporate pilot flying from the GA ramp at the AES airports?

Im thinking that it wouldnt be too much of an addition except the follow me and rain on the runway...

Eric,

I can't tell you how MUCH AES adds... you just have to use it to understand.

However... I use it for a regional jet..... not sure about how it would handle a corporate jet. Stuff like the boarding sounds that activate when you tell the ground crew that it is time to board passengers seems more geared to a larger aircraft (quite configurable as to duration of play....with a random factor thrown in). BUT...... my guess is there might be a way to use a different sound file for that.

But you CAN test it totally for free. Download the AES base pack over at Aerosoft's site. It automaticallt activates a few free airports. The one to test it with is the FREEWARE Fly Tampa/ Grimshaw KBOS.

best,
